My journey into wax, wicks and fragrance began a few years ago when I came face to face with the toxins I had floating around my home. A documentary opened my eyes to the potential dangers in traditional candles. Curious and more than a little concerned, I began digging into the details to see what was really going on in the candle industry. It didn’t take long to uncover some pretty shocking stuff.  Paraffin wax, phthalates, and products filled to the brim with reproductive, neurological, and developmental toxins. It quickly became clear that many candles were filling our homes with far more than just cozy scents. I found that many big candle companies weren’t just cutting corners on ingredients; they were also skipping important details that really affect the quality of the burn. Things like misaligned wicks that create fire hazards and poor craftsmanship that stops candles from burning evenly or completely. I know some of this might sound technical, but here’s what it means: many companies just aren’t putting in the effort. If I’m spending $20 on a candle, I want it to burn cleanly, fully, and safely—and I think you deserve that, too. 

As someone who genuinely cares about what goes into my space and how it smells, I wasn’t about to sacrifice my health and safety for a candle but I still wanted a cozy smelling home. That’s when I decided to make a change. I threw myself into learning everything I could about clean ethical candle-making. From sourcing quality pure soy wax to testing wick sizes and burn pools. I rejected any shortcuts that could compromise the air we breathe. The deeper I went into product development  I realized that candles don’t have to just be “not bad” for us—they can actually be good for our well-being. By using essential oils, I could add a genuinely therapeutic aspect to each candle. I realized candles can offer us so much more than just good smells, they can activity alter our state of being. I wanted to make candles that not only smell amazing but also bring a little peace of mind. Now, I’m excited to share these candles with you! Each candle I make is crafted with purpose, transparency, and care—because I believe that a great scented home shouldn’t come at a cost to our health.
